Parol festival

A Parol contest to be held in every city in the Philippines where people make their very own version of the Parol. These parols will then be submitted to the city for judging, and the Mayor of that city will pick the winner. Of course the winning parol will be judged based on creativity and beauty. The winning parol from each city then will be submitted to a venue in Manila. The venue will depend on how many submissions there are. Maybe Boni High Street or Luneta where there's a lot of walking space...

Once the individual winning city parols have been submitted to the venue, they will then be held on display and open for public viewing for 1 or 2 weeks until Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day. On this event, the President will get to pick the winning parol.

Think of it as a beauty pageant, but instead of using women as the objects of objectification, it will be the parols.

Other countries might have their own little 'lantern festivals,' but we'll have our own Parol Festival.

...and ours will be a lot more beautiful than theirs!

Once it gets global media attention, we'll probably get some tourist action going on.

*No cash prizes are to be handed out in any of these contests to prevent corruption.
