Balut

I don't know if these ideas have been implemented or not...

Balut idea number 1.

Take a tourist hot-spot in the Philippines
...have a balut-eating stall in there
...where tourists can try the infamous balut (duck fetus)
...and take a picture of them while eating it


Print that picture on a t-shirt
...and have the t-shirt say "I ate Balut but all I got was this lousy shirt!"
...then have "Philippines" at the bottom or back of the shirt
...or maybe you can have the tourist choose which side of the shirt they want the picture on
...then sell it for 500php

It's an American idea (of making fun of yourself)
...that still retains the Filipino essence (the balut)

This is more of a 'think BIGGER' theme...


Whenever I speak to Europeans, they say that Southeast Asia is the best place to go for an adventure
...it's because many things 'work' in Europe
...the trains and public transport, the social welfare system, medical insurance...
...the cars are efficient, the food is good, the water is clean, etc...

In other words: IT'S BORING IN EUROPE.

My european friends say that they love Southeast Asia
...because of the culture, the people
...the smell of food being cooked on the streets
...the chaos of traffic
...if something doesn't work, you need to be 'creative'
...it's ALIVE

To add more 'life' to the Philippines

...I suggest a DUCK-FETUS EATING CONTEST!

...imagine the possibilities!

Count how many HOTDOGS you can eat in 1 minute

...NONSENSE!

Count how many CIGARETTES you can smoke simultaneously

...RUBBISH!

Count how many hours you can continuously kiss someone nonstop

...LAME!

Count how many DUCK-FETUSES you can stuff in your stomach

...now THAT is interesting!

Make sure you put this 'contest' where there are a lot of tourists who can 'observe and report' though

...it's all marketing, you know?

...it will be another big tourist draw on top of the Parol Festival I already mentioned
